Lorgio is a self-taught digital painter whose journey began in 2016 with nothing more than a laptop touchpad and a curiosity he couldn’t ignore. Starting with vector illustrations, he made a bold shift in late 2017, investing in his first tablet and diving into the world of digital painting. Through relentless practice and study, he cultivated a distinctive style—one that bridges traditional painting techniques with the possibilities of the digital medium.
His work has since reached audiences across the world, producing pieces for individuals, production companies, and collaborating with artists internationally. One of his earliest major milestones came when he created artwork for the Oscar-winning film If Beale Street Could Talk, which was used to promote the film upon release.
More recently, his artwork for the feature film Sinners was officially used by the production studio to promote the movie and was later featured by Warner Bros. Studios and Warner Bros. Australia as part of their global promotional campaign. His visual interpretations of cinematic storytelling have caught the attention of celebrated figures including Michael B. Jordan, Regina King, Zazie Beetz, Bryson Tiller, and KiKi Layne, among others.
Lorgio’s work has been featured in prominent publications in the United States and Canada, including CBC, CBC Arts, CTV, Shondaland, and more. Afrocentric in spirit, his style draws inspiration from African, African American, and broader pop culture narratives—infused with the expressive chaos of Jean-Michel Basquiat and the classical grounding of Titian, Da Vinci, and Michelangelo.
Despite the recognition, Lorgio attributes his growth not to talent, but to a relentless drive to learn. His mantra remains at the core of his journey:
“I am not talented. I am passionately curious.”
